ACCESS TO INFORMATION
Ways of application for access to information:
1. Application by Petition:
Written application/request is made with petition delivered by hand and via e-mail to Headquarters and regional customs offices. The application date is the date when the related information unit of the Headquarters and regional customs offices has received the petition.
a) Application of Natural Person:
The petition submitted by the natural person should have the following details:
- Name/surname of the natural person;
- Signature of the natural person;
- Residence or work address the natural person;
- Detailed explanation concerning the requested information or document under Legislation on Right to Information (e.g. subject of the requested information and document, date, number, the related unit, etc)
Clarification:
1. In case of the application of the handicapped person, if the applicant has some other special information or sign/symbol to verify his/her identity during the application, this information or sign/symbol is regarded as signature.
2. In case of written application, it is optional to attach form Annex 1 to the petition. However, the attachment of the completed form to the petition is useful to facilitate procedure for access to the requested information or document promptly.
b) Application of Legal Person:
The petition submitted by the legal person should have the following details:
- Name/surname of the legal person;
- Signature of the legal person;
- Residence or work address the legal person;
- Detailed explanation concerning the requested information or document under Legislation on Right to Information (e.g. subject of the requested information and document, date, number, the related unit, etc).
Clarification:
1. In case of the application of the legal person, the applicant who signs the petition should attach certificate of authorization to the petition.
2. In case of written application, it is optional to attach form Annex 1 to the petition. However, the attachment of the completed form to the petition is useful to facilitate procedure for access to the requested information or document promptly.
2. Application via e-Mail
Application/request for access to information is also made via e-mail to the related information unit of the Headquarters and regional customs offices. In case of application via e-mail, the application date is the date when the related information unit of the Headquarters and regional customs offices has received the petition. The applicant should send the completed form via e-mail to bilgiedinme@gumruk.gov.tr or list of e-mails of customs regional offices.
Application to Customs Regional Offices
Application/request for access to information and document of the customs regional offices should be made directly to Information Unit of Provincial Administration Authority (Governor or District Governor. It is also possible to apply to the related customs regional office.
